Privacy Policy for Estoc

Summary

Estoc does not collect, store or share your personal data. Everything the game remembers about you stays on your device. Online play runs through Apple's Game Center, and the only things it sends to another player are your chosen display name, your chosen title and the moves you make in that match.

This policy applies to the Estoc app for iPhone, published by Kaiwa AI ("we", "us").

Information store on your device

The app saves the following on your iPhone so the game works as expected. It is never sent to us, and we have no servers that could receive it.

  • The name you choose (optional): shown on your panel and to online opponents.

  • Your chosen title and the titles you have unlocked: shown next to your name.

  • Game statistics (results, game length, how you played): the Statistics screen and unlocking titles.

  • A paused match: so you can resume it later.

  • Settings (sound, difficulty, match length, walkthrough completed): to remember your preferences.

This information is included in your device backups (iCloud or computer) under Apple's own terms. You can reset your statistics in the app at any time.

Online play and Game Center

Online matches, friend requests and invitations use Apple's Game Center. Signing in, your Game Center profile, friends list and matchmaking are provided by Apple and covered by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us. You can play against the computer without Game Center.

During an online match, the app sends the following to your opponent's device through Game Center:

  • the display name and title you chose in Estoc (if you set no name, your opponent sees "Opponent")

  • the cards you play, once you confirm each move

  • the information needed to deal the same cards on both devices

This is used only to run the match while it is in progress. We do not receive or keep it, and your opponent's device stores only the result of the match in its own statistics. The app uses your Game Center player identifier on your device only to decide which device sets up the match; it is not stored or sent to us.

Names are checked against a list of offensive words before they are saved or shown, but we cannot guarantee that every name another player chooses is appropriate.

What we don't do

  • No accounts: Estoc has no sign-up or login of its own.

  • No analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking.

  • No advertising, and no tracking across other apps or websites.

  • No third-party code that collects data. The fonts and sounds are bundled in the app.

  • No selling or sharing of your information, because we never receive it.

  • No access to your contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone.

Children

Estoc does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Online play requires a Game Center account, which Apple manages under its own rules for younger users.

Deleting your data

Reset your statistics under Statistics › Reset statistics. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Your Game Center data is managed in your device's Settings › Game Center and through Apple.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling information differently, we will update this policy and the date at the top before the change is released.
