Privacy Policy for Kaiwa AI

Overview

会話AI (KaiwaAI) is currently in beta. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what data is processed by the app and its service providers, and how it is handled.

What We Collect

  • No account required: You do not need to register or sign up to have a conversation, get a transcript, or receive grammar feedback.
  • Microphone Audio:: While you are speaking in the app, your audio is streamed in real time to Deepgram, our speech-to-text provider, to convert your speech into text. This audio is used only for that purpose and is not stored or retained on our servers.
  • Conversation Text: The text transcribed from your speech is sent to Anthropic (maker of Claude) to generate the AI conversation partner's replies, to generate a short title for each saved conversation, and, if you request it, a grammar review of your speech. Only text is sent for this purpose — never audio.
  • AI Voice Replies: The AI's own text reply is sent to ElevenLabs to generate the spoken audio you hear back. This is text-to-speech of the AI's response only; no recording of your voice is involved in this step.
  • Conversation History: Your session transcripts, including the title generated for each conversation, are stored locally on your device only. We do not transmit or store this history on our servers, and it is never linked to your identity. App preferences, such as your history sort order and whether you have completed the tutorial, are also stored on your device only.
  • Anonymous data to prevent abuse: The app generates a random identifier the first time it is opened. It is not derived from your device or personal details and is not linked to any account. Each time the app contacts our server, this identifier and your IP address are used solely to limit excessive or automated use (rate limiting). The resulting counters expire automatically within two days. We do not use this identifier for tracking, analytics, or advertising.
  • Sign in with Apple (Optional): If you choose to sign in, we store only the Apple-provided identifier locally on your device, to keep you signed in across launches. We do not send this identifier to our servers or associate it with any conversation data.
  • Optional Feedback: If you choose to send us feedback, that feedback may be collected and used to improve the app.
  • Distribution Data: The app is distributed via Apple's App Store and/or TestFlight. Apple may collect data as described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Service Providers

To provide the app's core functionality, the following services process data as described above:

  • Deepgram — speech-to-text transcription of your microphone audio
  • Anthropic (Claude) — generating conversation replies and grammar feedback from transcribed text
  • ElevenLabs — generating spoken audio from the AI's text replies
  • Vercel — hosting of the server that relays requests between the app and the services above
  • Upstash - temporary storage of the anonymous usage counters described above

These providers process data solely to deliver the requested functionality within the app. We do not use them for advertising, analytics, or tracking.

What We Don't Do

  • We do not require account creation or sign-up to use the app's core features
  • We do not display advertisements
  • We do not track your activity or use data for advertising purposes
  • We do not sell your data
  • We do not link the data processed by our service providers to your identity
  • We do not use the anonymous identifier for tracking

Account Deletion

If you signed in with Apple, you can delete your account at any time from within the app (Account → Delete Account). This permanently deletes your locally stored conversation history and signs you out — the app does not retain any account data of yours afterward, since none is stored on our servers to begin with. The anonymous identifier described above is not part of your account and cannot identify you; its counters expire automatically.

会話AIは現在ベータ版です。当社はあなたのプライバシー保護に取り組んでいます。本ポリシーは、アプリおよびそのサービス提供事業者が処理するデータと、その取り扱い方法について説明しています。

収集するデータ

  • アカウントは不要です： 会話の開始、文字起こしの取得、文法フィードバックの受け取りに、登録やサインアップは必要ありません。
  • マイク音声：：アプリで話している間、音声はリアルタイムで音声認識プロバイダーであるDeepgramにストリーミングされ、テキストに変換されます。この音声はその目的のみに使用され、当社のサーバーに保存または保持されることはありません。
  • 会話のテキスト： 音声から書き起こされたテキストは、AI会話パートナーの返答を生成するため、保存された各会話に短いタイトルを付けるため、またご希望の場合は発話の文法レビューを行うために、Anthropic（Claudeの開発元）に送信されます。この目的で送信されるのはテキストのみであり、音声が送信されることはありません。
  • AIの音声返答： AI自身のテキストによる返答は、ユーザーが聞く音声を生成するためにElevenLabsに送信されます。これはAIの返答のみを音声化するものであり、この過程であなたの音声の録音が使用されることはありません。
  • 会話履歴： セッションの記録（各会話に自動で付けられたタイトルを含む）はお使いの端末にのみローカルに保存されます。この履歴を当社のサーバーに送信または保存することはなく、ユーザーの身元と紐付けられることもありません。履歴の並べ替え順やチュートリアルを完了したかどうかなどのアプリの設定も、端末内にのみ保存されます。
  • 不正利用防止のための匿名データ： アプリは初回起動時にランダムな識別子を生成します。この識別子は端末や個人情報から作られるものではなく、アカウントとも紐付けられません。アプリが当社のサーバーに接続するたびに、この識別子とIPアドレスは、過度な利用や自動化された利用を制限する目的（レート制限）にのみ使用されます。これにより生成されるカウンターは2日以内に自動的に削除されます。この識別子を追跡、分析、広告の目的で使用することはありません。
  • Sign in with Apple（任意）： サインインを選択した場合、Appleから提供される識別子のみを端末にローカルに保存し、アプリ起動時のサインイン状態を維持するために使用します。この識別子を当社のサーバーに送信したり、会話データと紐付けたりすることはありません。
  • オプションのフィードバック： フィードバックを送信することを選択した場合、そのフィードバックは収集され、アプリの改善に使用される場合があります。
  • 配信に関するデータ： アプリはApple App StoreおよびTestFlightを通じて配信されます。AppleはAppleのプライバシーポリシーに記載されている情報を収集する場合があります。

第三者サービス提供事業者

アプリの主要な機能を提供するため、以下のサービスが上記のとおりデータを処理します：

アカウントの削除

Sign in with Appleでサインインした場合、アプリ内（アカウント → アカウントを削除）からいつでもアカウントを削除できます。この操作により、端末にローカル保存された会話履歴が完全に削除され、サインアウトされます。当社のサーバーにはもともとアカウントデータを保存していないため、削除後に当社側に残るデータはありません。なお、上記の匿名の識別子はアカウントの一部ではなく、個人を特定するものではありません。関連するカウンターは自動的に削除されます。
